My "Why"

First, as you probably already know from my home page, my name's Jocelyn Martinez and I've been dancing in various styles, such as hip hop, tap, jazz, ballet, jazz funk, contemporary, modern, lyrical, and more, since the age of four. At the age of twelve I struggled with anorexia, which showed me just how essential the art of dance and music was to my soul and well-being. My main focus right now, however,  is my professional dance career and modeling...pretty much anything that allows me to move my body and connect with others.

I've danced in a variety of projects, such as The Grammy's, Victoria's Secret Fashion Show with Cher, the BET Awards, Mariah Carey's "Merry Christmas To All" Tour, various commercials, music videos, and more. I have also modeled for Bose, Beachbody, Ciele Beauty, various Capezio campaigns, Cezanne Hair, IT Cosmetics, Shielded Beauty, and more. Additionally, I'm grateful to have been able to work with talented choreographers, such as Sean Bankhead, Fatima Robinson, Jamal Smith, Charm La' Donna, Luam Keflezgy, Josh Smith, Lindsay Ducos, Bryan Tanaka, and more. In terms of training, I have had the pleasure to learn from Tyrell & Latrina Washington, Tobias Ellehammer, Lindsay Ducos, Tia Rivera, Chloe & Maud Arnold,  Jeremy Green, Ashley Cruz, Galen Hooks, Mike Minery, Al Blackstone, Kristen Gorski, and more.

When I'm not training or working on a project, I dedicate my time to creating various forms of content on websites and social media pages for brands, such as Philosophy, Urban Decay, RYZE, Experian, DoorDash, Cerebral, Noteworthy, Nurx, and more. I also create various videos on my personal social media pages to encourage mindset and personal development work from a healing perspective among creatives, as I continue to learn throughout my journey--hopefully inspiring and helping others along the way. Lastly, as a college graduate, I continue to fully and undoubtedly pursue my dance and modeling careers along with my entrepreneurship journey, utilizing my variety of skills along the way. Thanks for being here & keep pushing!
